Four more days of Arts Trail still to go, so far a pleasing number of visitors in spite of obstacles, quite literally, in their way. Cabling works closed the road to all but the most determined last Friday and no one arrived until the end of the day. Still Saturday more than made up for it with a steady stream of people and four more paintings sold, six in total so far. Very heartening comments as people looked at my work around the house and up in the studio. Weather a bonus at the weekend, even having the road closed had benefits as I was able to have front door open all day and enjoy the sunshine.
Been painting and preparing, now the time has come! Open studio from Saturday, do come and visit. Last year was very encouraging and I’m looking forward to it.

ArtHub-An exciting new setting has opened for publicising the work of local artists in Newton Ferrers by kind permission of Rhyddian Roper. Situated on Newton Hill ArtHub is a small venue fronting onto the main street for shopping in Newton Ferrers and is intended to show the work of locally selected artists. Invited artists will each exhibit a piece at the venue, which can be viewed by appointment. Additionally there will be a permanent rolling display in the window with photographs showing further examples of work and contact details of the artists. The exhibition will be open to the public, initially by appointment only on a Saturday. It is intended that this will develop into a regular once a month Saturday opening, with opportunities to meet the artists and view a regularly changing selection of art.
This is a welcome addition to existing opportunities to view the work of artists living in Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo such as the SHAF Open Studios in October and the Gallery Project. It is primarily an information and contact hub with prospective purchasers directed to the individual artists and 10% commission to a specified charity.
